Drugstore Haul!

We don't have "drugstores" as such in Australia and even though I've discussed the concept with friends, I'm still not entirely sure what a drugstore is. Something I am certain of, however, is that you're supposed to be able to find cheap to moderately priced makeup there -- and here, you can do that in supermarkets, department stores and pharmacies. With Mother's Day rolling up, many of these places have some super sweet sales on, so I was able to get a nice stash of things from Big W and Priceline which I'm very excited to play with!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment in "Fair". Did you know that this comes in different shades? I obviously had a Padawan brain when I bought this because it certainly didn't occur to me. However, I've had the opportunity to use this and it looks like I picked the right one! One of the YouTubers I watch, Courtney (spreadinsunshine15) likes to use this to cover dark circles and highlight, so I'd been thinking about getting it for a while for that reason (I don't think I have much use for the "age rewind"!). The instructions say to use sparingly for best results, so I think it might settle into creases if you use too much. I got this from Big W on sale for $14.75.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in "Constant Caribbean", "Out of the Blue" and "Grapevine". I've got one of these already in "Golden Opportunity" and I've really enjoyed wearing it, but I've recently realised that most of the polishes are a gold colour -- with winter around the corner, I wanted some fun new colours! "Constant Caribbean" is a kind of turquoise with a chrome look, "Out of the Blue" is a solid cornflower blue, and "Grapevine" is, at it suggests, a purple grape colour also with a chrome look. I got these for $6.75 each -- not on sale, I just really wanted them!

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in "Too Cool" and "Tenacious Teal", and the 24hr Metal Eyeshadow in "Inked in Pink". I bought this for the same reason I got the nail polishes, in that most of the colours I have from this series are gold or neutrals and I wanted some more colour! I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with them yet, but I have thought about using "Too Cool" as a kind of base to see if they'll make coloured eye shadows stand out more! I got these on sale from Big W for $7.75 each.

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara in "Black". I read about a similar product on a beauty blog (although for the life of me, I can't find it!) and although that particular product isn't available here, when I saw this I decided I should give it a try! I find L'Oreal to be one of the more higher-end of drugstore brands, with their some of their mascaras nearly $30 each! I got this one on sale for $22.95, which is the most I think I've ever paid for a mascara. I tried it out yesterday and although I think I want to use it a few more times before I come to an opinion, so far I like it. I might later do a review on it, because it costs so much.

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings in "Black". You could say that this is what prompted the entire haul -- this is the product I am most excited to try! Chloe Morello has used it in a few of her videos, but I was sold when I watched her Bronzed Goddess Artistic Liner tutorial a couple of weeks ago. It's supposed to have fibres in it that volumise the lashes and I've heard varying opinions about these sorts of mascaras, so it'll be interesting to try it out. I got this on sale for $15.

L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Reflexion Lip Gloss in "Sheer Pink". I bought this incredibly expensive gloss because it reminded me of one of the first ones I ever got. The packaging was the same, and at first I thought it was the long-discontinued Wet Shine Diamonds lip gloss by Maybelline, however the pictures of the tubes on the internet don't match the lip gloss I had in my head, so... I'm not sure what to make of it! Maybe it was an older line of Glam Shine gloss. We'll never know. At any rate, "Sheer Pink" looks like it's a swirly marbled mix of a light pink and a deeper pink. At $18.95 (on sale!) I feel like it's practically worth its weight in gold, so I really hope it I'll be pleased with it.

Max Factor Excess Volume Extreme Impact Mascara in "Black". Okay, I'm pretty much a sucker for volumising mascaras, but how big does mascara need to get?! Of course, this is a double-ended product with a volume of 20ml -- the previous mascaras have 9ml and 7ml of product respectively, so with about 10ml on each end, this product should last the same amount of time. I got this half price for $11.97.

Real Techniques Your Finish Perfected Kabuki Brush. I've been keeping an eye out for this brush for a while, ever since I first asked Danielle about it on tumblr. I'd wait until they were on sale but every time I went into Priceline, they'd be out! This time I just went "to hell with it" and decided to go buy it whether it was on sale or not. It wasn't, but I won't mind if it's as good as everyone tells me. I got it for $22.99.

Real Techniques Your Finish Perfected Stippling Brush. I've watched a lot of tutorials which have used stippling brushes for applying foundation (which basically makes me a pro, am I right?) and I decided that I'm willing to give this a shot. It's supposed to give your skin an airbrushed look and I hope it does just that! This set me back $22.99.

And that's about it for this haul post! Have you used any of these products before? What did you think?
